3-year-old kid tries to unlock dad’s Apple iPad, device disables itself for 48 years

Now, everyone would have faced this issue when your iPhone/iPad is disabled for a certain time period if you type in wrong passcode into the phone. This is a security feature that makes it hard for someone without a code to acquire access to your device with use of brute force. This feature is automatically enabled when someone keeps entering various codes to break into the device with very rare chance of actually getting the right password combination.

Now, your child having access to your device could work in a negative way. This happened with a father after he left the iPad with his kid. Now, here there is no limit on the time duration for this feature when enabled after input of wrong password. Evan Osnos, the NY based writer was particularly surprised when he saw that his device showcased a wait of 25,536,442 minutes till he could access the phone with right code.

This is an impressive wait time of 48 years all because his child decided to get access to the phone with wrong password entered multiple times. He took to Twitter for advice and two days later he used the DFU mode advice provided by a Twitter user and restored the phone.
