A Dog Always Requires Basic Grooming, Shares Perfect Dogs Thailand

Like humans, dogs too have their stand on grooming. Not all dogs love grooming process. Some actually detest it and when the day arrives their behavior shows it. It is not easy to groom them. Firstly a dog’s human needs to understand their dog’s behavior and preferences and find a way to cajole them into bathing and basic grooming for the health of the dog.

Dog Experts from Perfect Dogs Thailand shared some tips to analyze them and take care of the grooming. Make sure that the grooming process is surrounded with gifts and treats so that the dog looks forward to the whole process. Like for instance the blow drying that is hated by dogs commonly. Reserve the best treats for this process and give it only when the task is done. Dogs also operate on motivation and the treat will motivate them to give in to the process.

Instead of going for the grooming on one day, divide the process over several days. It will keep your dog happy and less moody. More the days, more the treats and this will make them look forward to the next sessions. Breaking the grooming process up into several different sessions makes it more tolerable for the dogs and also easier for the family to handle them.

Nail trimming is one other process that needs attention as long nails can cause problems walking, arthritis, and the nail can even curve into the pad of the dog’s foot. So the nails should be trimmed at least once a month depending on the need. Certain dogs require more- or less-frequent nail trimming.

Occasional brushing of the dog coat is essential as it spreads the natural oils on the dog’s body through their coat for a healthy shine. Every coat type requires different brush types so remember to ask the vet the best brush for your dog.
