Fifteen students of IIT Kharagpur have been awarded with international internships this year by the IIT KGP Foundation, which was founded by the alumni of the Institute in USA and has its headquarter at Nebraska.
The IIT KGP Foundation would be offering a sum of around USD 3000 to each student to manage their airfare, accommodation and other expenses.
The selected students will receive internships at top global universities. These include MIT, University of Illinois-Urbana, California Institute of Technology, University of Michigan and Georgia Tech in the United States; Nanyang University and NUS in Singapore, Lausanne in Switzerland and Darmstadt in Germany.
As per a statement released by president of IIT KGP Foundation, Ron Gupta, the foundation shall continue to offer its support to such initiatives that can develop a robust relation between students and elite institutions and help these students introduce themselves to the future technological advancements taking place in their respective fields and beyond.
Notably, over a 100 students having topmost CGPA sent applications for these international internships this year, out of which fifteen were chosen and offered the award. The research topics covered an array of subjects based on the host education institution as well as the student.
