Bernie Chase Displays Chase Contemporary’s New Solo Exhibition with Atlanta-Based Painter Imani Bilál

Recently, Bernie Chase began Chase Contemporary’s new solo exhibition with Atlanta-based painter, Imani Bilál. The solo exhibition spans from July 23rd to August 29th at the gallery’s East Hampton and Manhattan locations.

The exhibition was held at the gallery’s East Hampton location from July 23rd till August 8th. Now, it is taking place at the gallery’s Manhattan location for the time period, August 12th to 29th.

At the solo exhibition, Imani Bilál presents his new abstract artwork titled, Behind the Veil: Musings of Muraqaba. It focuses on the concepts of mindfulness and meditation. The artworks radiate explosive and enigmatic energy that highlights various phases of meditation.

Behind the Veil: Musings of Muraqaba highlights the Islamic/Sufi concept of “Muraqaba” (Meditation). It means connecting one’s inner self and approaching spiritual heart & soul. In ancient Arabic, “murāqabah’ meant watching the night sky to spot the first signs of early stars to start the journey. 

Bernie Chase started Symbolic Motor Car with his brother Marc Chase in 1985. And it earned a net worth of approximately $120 million annually for distributing vintage cars. In the early 2000s, Bernie Chase started his art gallery in 2017, Chase Contemporary, which sees many popular artists.

Chase Contemporary invests its efforts in art sales operations and it also takes part in charity works. For example, Bernie Chase uses his net worth to collect around $60 million yearly to contribute to Scripps Research Foundation and Institute for Childhood and Neglected Diseases. Moreover, Bernie Chase also does charity by using luxurious car donations.
