Shalini is a dynamic businesswoman who has experience in diverse fields like jewelry, fashion, beauty, and wellness industries. Shalini was determined to be an entrepreneur since her childhood and had the desire to use her life’s travel experiences to celebrate the diversity of beauty. Shalini became a jewelry and fashion entrepreneur at 19 when her father gave her a plane ticket to India and told her to start her own business. She wrote her best selling book Passport To Beauty in 2006 which hit #1 twice on the health and beauty lists. She launched her first makeup brand in Sephora and QVC which became an instant hit. After exiting her brand, she founded Power Beauty Living, a platform for women which provides mentorship for women by women and a community of love, support, and empowerment. Seeing the lack of women mentors she also incorporates thoughts of women leaders and experts. In 2016 Shalini launched Power Beauty Living globally at the United Nations and in 2019 she turned it into a non profit to impact girls and women globally with skills development, vocational training, and empowerment to women, globally.
Shalini also founded Passport To Beauty – an international beauty and wellness brand that curates the best quality beauty products for the beauty of diversity. She crafted beauty products that are natural and easy on the skin, which gained a massive following globally. The UK and India’s Government lauded her efforts to beautify and empower women along with Amazon India, with whom Shalini collaborated to launch a mission driven brand, crafted for the empowerment of women around the world called Ready Set Jet. The objective of the brand is to provide technical skills to disenfranchised women, including micro-entrepreneurship, digitization, livelihood enablement, etc. Alongside the product line, Shalini hopes to generate more jobs for women through the Ready Set Jet Academy and Power Beauty Living. .
Shalini was awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Award at the British Parliament in 2017, for her work in the empowerment of women. Along with this, she has won many other social and lifestyle awards. Shalini is known globally as a premiere global beauty formulator. She’s created products and brands for The Baywatch Movie, Turner Classic Movies, Fab Fit Fun, and for her elite clientele list of influencers and celebrities. She has also been featured on The Doctors, Today Show, and Dr Oz.
