Jay Five belongs to Seminola, a small area in Miami, FL. He started working on music when he was a teenager and has since then been making music for the last 20 years. He and his siblings were brought up by his mother single handedly. The musician always knew to get out of the community and do something was a need not a choice. First football and then music is where he found his calling and solace.
When he was young he lost his elder brother who was his best friend which changed his life completely. With his older brother he used to make music as a band in school and even sing church choirs. The life circumstances and his music experience childhood inspired Jay Five to get into music making and production professionally.
Music is his biggest influence in life. Something that got him standing on his feet and also something he could hide in when life circumstances did not support him. Through his friends he met his favorite local and reachable musicians.
Artists like Trick Daddy, Rick Ross, Trina Uncle, Luke JT Money Flo-Rida, Pitbull have inspired him throughout his journey as a musician. He studied how they recorded and made music and influenced the community. He also learnt and took inspiration from local Djs of 99jamz and music mogul Dj Khaled. It was challenging to get out of the hood but Jay Five found his way through music.
