Chandigarh, India – Though the study tour for Chandigarh councillors is facing criticism from Congress councillors, Mayor of the city, Rajesh Kalia made it clear that the study tour will not be abandoned at any cost. Mayor Rajesh Kalia said that the study tour will take place at any cost despite it facing criticism of congress councillors. The city will bring more such study tours in the future so that the new things could be implemented in Chandigarh.
Congress councillors have already denied to take part in the study tour. Rajesh Kalia called it poor politics from congress. Manoj Parida, the UT Adviser, has given the approval for the study tour.
Manoj Parida also shared his views on the current issue. He said that the elected councillors deserved to pursue tours that MPs enjoy. The study tour is divided into two groups. One group of councillors will go for the study tour on 21 December while the other will go on December 22.
Congress is calling this study tour a waste of money. According to the Congress councillors, the study tour allows councillors to stay at a five-star hotel and it will cost around Rs. 35 lakhs. This is a clear waste of public money. Congress councillors also said that they are not defaming the study tours but there is no goal and benefit of this tour.
According to the sources, two women councillors of Congress were ready to participate in the study tour.
